A figure in a wide-brimmed hat sits at the centre of this black and cream print, drawn like a woodblock cut. Where the face should be there is only solid black, with the hat's shadow falling across it. The crown of the hat is hollow at the top, and a small plain cloud floats just above it. Behind the figure, dense rows of curling, dashed black lines fill the background in rounded cloud shapes, like fingerprints or wood grain. The collar and shoulders are left as bare cream paper.
