Christmas gift ideas for friends, from Secret Santa to a year in photos
The easiest Christmas gift ideas for friends on a poster budget are a small set of prints in the mood of their room, or a handful of their own photos printed for the wall. For Secret Santa with a ₹500 cap, a 15-print A5 kit at ₹399 fits with room to spare. For a ₹200 or ₹300 cap, it works if one person orders for the whole group, and we'll show the maths.
We're two college students who print and pack every Art Theory order ourselves, so this is the guide we'd give a friend who asked: what each budget gets you, how to choose for someone whose room you've never seen, and when to order so it arrives before the 25th. Every price here was checked on our store on 28 October 2026, and prices do move, so the product page has the final word.
Secret Santa gift ideas under ₹500, and the ₹399 catch
Almost every Indian Secret Santa list we read while writing this assumes a cap between ₹200 and ₹500. Prints hold up well at that price. They feel chosen, and nobody goes home with a fourth coffee mug.
There's one snag. Our store has a ₹399 minimum order, so a single ₹199 kit can't be shipped on its own. Above the minimum, delivery is ₹50, and it's free from ₹649.

Sizes for reference: A6 is 10.5 × 14.8 cm, about the size of a postcard. A5 is 14.8 × 21 cm and A4 is 21 × 29.7 cm. If you're unsure what a kit covers on a real wall, the measured footprints are in how big each wall collage kit size really is.
One order for the whole group
Small caps work once you pool them. If the organiser, or whoever's most organised, places one order for everyone, the group clears the minimum and gets the automatic discounts too. On 28 October 2026 those were ₹50 off at ₹800, ₹120 off at ₹1,100 and ₹200 off at ₹1,400.
- For a ₹200 cap and 8 people, eight A6 15-print kits come to ₹1,592. The ₹200 discount brings it to ₹1,392, delivery is free, and that's ₹174 a person.
- For a ₹300 cap and 8 people, eight A6 25-print kits come to ₹2,392, or ₹2,192 after the discount. That's ₹274 each.
Everyone can still pick a different kit for their person. They just send the organiser a name and a kit. One thing to know: cash on delivery is only offered on orders under ₹1,999, so a bigger group order has to be paid online. That also adds a free surprise print, which the organiser can keep as a fee for doing the admin.
Each kit is its own set of prints, so the group order splits into separate gifts the day it arrives. Write a tag, slip each set into a stiff paper folder, and hand them out.
How to choose a print for someone whose room you've never seen
The hard part of Secret Santa is that you often draw someone you barely know: the quiet person from accounts, or a junior from the floor below. You don't need to see their room. People leave their taste lying around in other places, if you know where to look.
Check their phone lock screen and the stickers on their laptop. Notice what plays when they get the aux in the cab, and which colours they wear on a regular Tuesday. Two clues that agree are usually enough.

If nothing points anywhere, go calm. Koffee and Mlue are the two we'd pick for a stranger, because both are mostly colour and mood with very little text. Office gifts get opened in front of everyone, so look through every print in a set before you buy it. A few of our text prints use language you wouldn't want read aloud at a team lunch.
You can also skip the kit and choose four or five single prints yourself. It takes longer, but it's the most personal option inside a ₹500 cap, and singles start at ₹19 for A6.
Personalised Christmas gifts for friends: a year in photos
For a best friend, a sibling or the roommate who survived 2026 with you, the gift we'd choose is their year printed. Pick twelve photos, one for each month, and order them through the Custom Kit. A few things make photo prints come out better:
- Use the original file. A photo saved from WhatsApp or Instagram has been compressed, and you can see it at A4. Ask the friend who took it to send the original, or pull it from Google Photos.
- Choose tall photos. Every print is portrait, so a wide group photo gets cropped or ends up with empty space. Close shots of two or three people print better than the whole batch on a staircase.
- Ask before you print other people. If a month's photo includes friends who aren't part of the gift, a quick message saves an awkward moment later.

Christmas gifts for roommates and hostel friends
In a lot of colleges, Christmas falls just before or during the winter break. Half the hostel goes home, and the corridor goes quiet. Hand the gift over before people leave, not after. A set of prints is something your roommate can put up in the last week of term, or carry home flat in a laptop sleeve.

Many hostels and PGs have a no-nails rule, which is why every unframed print comes with tape already applied. Paint varies a lot, though, and no tape behaves the same on every wall. When to order for Christmas 2026
If you're reading this in mid-December, this is the section you came for. Christmas Day is Friday, 25 December 2026. Ready-made kits and prints dispatch in 1 to 3 business days and arrive in 4 to 8 more. Custom kits dispatch after you approve the proof. We plan for up to 7 business days for those, then the same delivery window.

We counted back from the slowest dispatch and delivery times and left Sundays out, since Sunday orders are processed on the next working day. Treat these as the last safe dates, not the target. Couriers carry a lot more parcels in December. If it's going straight to a friend in another city, pay online. They won't be asked for money at the door, and the surprise print travels with it.
