Are Art Theory Poster Kits Right for You? Our Buyer Guide

Disclosure: This is Art Theory's own buyer guide, not an independent review. It explains what our current poster-kit listings and store policies say, where the evidence stops, and what you should check before ordering. Product availability, prices and policies were checked on 7 September 2026.

The short answer: an Art Theory poster kit can suit you if you want a coordinated, unframed group of prints and would rather choose one visual direction than assemble a wall piece by piece. It is a less natural fit if you need framed art, a tested guarantee for a delicate wall finish, archival-fade certification, or an independent product comparison. Those are different buying requirements.

What you receive in an Art Theory poster kit

A kit is a coordinated set of loose cardstock prints. It is not a framed-gallery-wall package. The exact contents depend on the size and print-count options available on the product page when you order. On the listings we checked, the selector combined a paper format with a quantity—for example, an A5 set of 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 or 40 prints. Some designs also showed A6, A4, A3 or mixed-size options. Availability was not identical across every design, so the selected variant is the reliable description of what will be packed.

The artwork is curated around a theme such as monochrome editorial imagery, celestial graphics, 1990s hip-hop references or softer café-inspired neutrals. That curation is the practical reason to buy a kit instead of unrelated singles: colour, subject matter and visual rhythm have already been considered together. Paper, finish and formats: what 350 GSM actually means

Art Theory's current kit listings specify 350 GSM matte cardstock. More precisely, that means a grammage of 350 grams per square metre. ISO 536 covers how paper and board grammage is determined, while ISO 534 treats thickness and density as separate measurements. In plain language: GSM tells you mass per area. It does not, by itself, certify a particular thickness, stiffness, curl resistance, tear strength or lifespan.

That distinction matters in a useful buyer guide. A 350 GSM specification gives you more information than a vague phrase such as “premium paper,” but it is not a durability test. We have therefore removed claims that every print will stay completely flat, never curl, or remain unchanged for a fixed number of years. Humidity, storage, ink, handling, sunlight and the way a print is mounted all affect its condition.

“Matte” describes the finish. It generally produces softer reflections than a glossy surface, which can make prints easier to view in many rooms. It should not be read as “zero glare from every angle.” A window, lamp or strong overhead light can still create a visible reflection. If lighting is critical, check the room at the time of day when you use it most.

The current catalogue uses A-series size names. As a planning reference, A6 is 105 × 148 mm, A5 is 148 × 210 mm, A4 is 210 × 297 mm and A3 is 297 × 420 mm. These formats come from the A-series system specified in ISO 216. Mixed sets need more layout planning because their total footprint depends on the exact combination and gaps.

What installation involves

The product listings we reviewed say that peel-and-stick tape is pre-applied to each print. That removes the need to source a separate adhesive, but it does not remove the need to plan. Before peeling anything, lay the full arrangement on the floor. Measure the wall, choose the outer boundary and decide on the gaps. A small spacing template cut from scrap card makes a regular grid much easier to keep straight.

1. Check the surface. The wall should be clean, dry and free from loose or flaking paint. Recently painted walls may need the paint maker's full curing period.
2. Test first. Try the adhesive on a discreet, low-risk spot and leave it long enough to assess adhesion and removal. Paint age, finish, dampness and surface preparation vary from room to room.
3. Mark the composition lightly. Use a level or measured reference line. Do not depend on the ceiling or furniture being perfectly level.
4. Press one print at a time. Follow any instructions supplied with the order. Avoid repeatedly removing and resticking the same adhesive unless those instructions say it is reusable.
5. Remove with care. Use the adhesive supplier's removal method if one is supplied. Do not assume that any tape is universally safe on every paint or wallpaper.

Art Theory should not promise “damage-free” installation without a defined adhesive, surface conditions and test method. Renters or anyone with fragile paint should treat the tape as a convenience, not a wall-safety guarantee. Current cost, shipping and delivery terms

The collection page displays a “from” price, which is the lowest-priced available variant—not a quote for every kit size or quantity. On 7 September 2026, the representative listings we checked ranged from ₹199 for an A6 set of 15 prints to ₹2,999 for an A3 set of 40 prints. Examples included ₹399 for 15 A5 prints, ₹699 for 30 A5 prints, ₹749 for 15 A4 prints and ₹1,299 for a mixed set of 15. Prices and availability can change; select the exact format and count on the product page, then verify the cart total before paying.

The store header currently advertises free delivery over ₹649. The shipping policy says that any shipping and COD charges are shown at checkout. It also states that orders are processed in 1–3 business days after confirmation and that delivery within India is estimated at 4–8 business days. These are estimates, not arrival guarantees; courier, weather, regional and operational delays can change the actual date.

Address accuracy matters. The policy asks for a complete name, phone number, PIN code, house number, street and landmark. If an order is returned because of an incorrect address, an unavailable recipient, a refused delivery or another customer-attributable issue, the current policy requires a ₹100 reshipping payment before the parcel is sent again.

Damage, incorrect items and replacement limits

The current return and refund policy does not offer general returns for these made-to-order, printed and curated products. It provides a remedy when an item arrives damaged or incorrect. You must contact Art Theory within 48 hours of delivery and share clear images or video of both the package and the product. After verification, Art Theory may provide a replacement or a refund at its discretion.

Minor colour or print variation, damage after delivery, selecting the wrong kit or size, and refusing a COD order are listed as non-returnable or non-refundable cases. Approved refunds are stated to take 5–7 business days and go back to the original payment method; eligible COD refunds are handled by UPI or bank transfer after confirmation. An order can be cancelled only before dispatch. Read the live policy before ordering because these terms may be updated after this guide's verification date.

Who these kits suit—and where the limits are

A curated poster kit is likely to suit a buyer who wants a substantial wall change without choosing dozens of unrelated designs. It works especially well when the kit's dominant colours already fit the bedding, desk, rug or lighting in the room. Smaller A5 or A6 groups can fill a desk corner or narrow wall; larger A4, A3 or mixed arrangements need more viewing distance and a measured footprint.

Choose another route if your priority is a single focal artwork, matching frames, exact image-by-image control, or certified conservation performance. Single posters provide more control. A custom kit is the better route when you want Art Theory to print supplied images or curate around a personal brief, subject to approval and print suitability.

Also check the artwork itself at full product-page size. A coordinated set can still include an image or phrase you would not choose individually. Count how many prints you genuinely want on the wall, not simply how many make the bundle look like better value.

How to interpret customer photos and feedback

The room and flat-lay photographs in this guide are customer-submitted images approved for Art Theory's use. They are helpful for seeing real layout density, colour combinations and how different walls change the mood. They are not a controlled test and should not be treated as proof of universal adhesive safety, exact colour accuracy, long-term flatness or durability.

We are not presenting a star rating or selected comments as a representative review sample here. A useful review should be traceable to a product and purchase context, and it should explain the chosen size, print count, wall finish, installation method and time since installation. Without that context, even a genuine comment may not answer your specific buying question.

Poster-kit buying checklist

Before adding a kit to your cart, run through this list. It is more useful than asking whether one brand is “best” without matching the products and conditions.

• Design: Have you opened the product gallery and checked every included artwork you can see?
• Variant: Does the selected option state the paper format and number of prints you expect?
• Footprint: Have you mocked up the total width and height, including the gaps between prints?
• Finish: Are you choosing an unframed matte cardstock print rather than expecting glass, a frame or rigid mounting board?
• Evidence: Are material, durability and adhesive claims specific and testable, or are they broad marketing phrases?
• Wall: Is the paint cured, stable and suitable for an adhesive test?
• Price: Did you compare the same paper size, count, finish and included adhesive—not just the lowest “from” price?
• Delivery: Does the estimated timeline work for you without treating it as a guaranteed arrival date?
• Claims window: Can you inspect the parcel promptly and report damage or an incorrect item within 48 hours?

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Do Art Theory poster kits include frames?

No. The current kits are sold as loose cardstock prints. Choose frames separately if you want a framed finish, and match each frame to the selected A-series format.

Does 350 GSM prove that a poster will not curl or fade?

No. It states mass per square metre. Thickness, stiffness, ink lightfastness, humidity exposure, storage and mounting are separate factors. It is a useful material specification, not a lifetime guarantee.

Is the included tape safe for every painted wall?

No universal claim is appropriate. Wall paint, curing time, dampness, texture and removal technique vary. Test a discreet spot and follow the instructions supplied with the order or adhesive.

How long does delivery take?

As checked on 7 September 2026, the shipping policy stated 1–3 business days for processing and an estimated 4–8 business days for delivery in India. Check the live policy and checkout for current charges and estimates.

What should I do if the kit arrives damaged or incorrect?
